They charged me $100 for just looking at the vehicle and I was not told of a fee for having them see what work was needed .They told me I needed a $1200 repair . I went to another mechanic and got a free estimate and the repair was only $150 .Definately get a second opinion when going here and ask about changes for diagnosing the problem first
Dawn, Very sorry you feel this way. Your heater core was plugged , due to poor coolant quality To perform a permanent repair would require replacement of the heater core and flushing the remainder of the system of contaminated fluid. This is an 8 hour job to replace, plus flushing. Not sure how you were able to fix that for $150. The only thing I can think is that they did a temporary band aid and flushed the core, in which case it is our experience that you will most likely experience the same problem. We employ trained ASE Master Technicians and We trust there Expertise. We don't do "BAND AID " fixes, as that usually results in dissatisfied customers. Our experience is to fix things the right way the first time. We are happy to hear however that you have found a shop you can trust. Thanks for your input.
